Niwaki pruning at Claude Monet’s Garden, Kitagawa

Writer: Ash walkerAsh walker

Pruning a tree, is a work of art!!!

Today, we demonstrated the method of Niwaki pruning.. The Japanese word ‘Niwaki’ means “garden trees.” Niwaki pruning is similar to bonsai pruning but the difference is that bonsai pruning is in miniaturised form, but when Niwaki pruning involves full sized trees and big shrubs.. The aim with Nikki pruning is to create a more natural, strong, spacious, better structured tree and that of course has a nice and appealing look.. what a fun and interesting way of gardening.
